THE BEGINNING
I am Takuya Beppu, a Software Engineer at Advanced Technology Lab of Recruit Technologies Co.,Ltd in Tokyo, Japan. A front-end engineer, I’ve developed and implemented technology using ES6, especially redux. My responsibilities at Recruit in Tokyo include improving productivity for the team using taskrunner, promoting automatically E2E test by nightwatch.js — from functional test to scenario test. Previous to this position, I was a Technical Director at Recruit in Tokyo and Da Nang, Vietnam. As part of the offshore development team, I helped transfer domestic development to offshore development.
THEN I WAS GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY
After 2 years working at Recruit, the company presented me an exciting and meaningful opportunity to travel abroad to broaden my skills and gain professional experience.
This special chance to grow professionally by working internationally is part of Recruit Technology’s unique “Berlin — Tokyo Project”.
I seized the opportunity and came to Germany for the first time in order to work on an Open Source project with a Berlin startup.
This is my story.
December, 2015
I visit Berlin for the first time to meet with several startups and find a good fit to do an open source project with.
One of my first meals, fueling up for lots of work on the trip
A successful business trip with introduction to many startups, entrepreneurs, and Berlin was celebrated atop a giant Ferris Wheel ride at one of Germany’s infamous Holiday Markets in Alexanderplatz.
