Hello, my name is Sugahara. I conduct IoT-related research at Recruit Technologies, ATL.
I have reported on research into keyless entry devices before, but now we have developed a keyless entry device that is compatible with Apple HomeKit.
Because this device is compatible with Apple HomeKit, it can be used to control devices that are not dedicated control apps. With this in mind, we performed test operations of the following applications.
・Insteon+
・nRF HomeKit
Initial Setup
Since both applications have the same initial set up, I will describe the initial set up for Insteon+.
Register a room to an application.
Search for device that is compatible with Apple HomeKit. The results of a successful search will appear as follows.
Register the device that you searched for. Input its accessory settings code.
The device is being added.
The device has been added successfully.
The settings screen will appear once the settings have been completed successfully.
This is what the accessory (device) looks like when registered.
This is the operation screen for the accessory (device).
Let’s take a look at the device as it is actually running.
Both applications are operated using the above procedure.
This concludes my report on on the keyless entry device that is compatible with Apple HomeKit.
